I grew up in a "brick-yard" town in North Central PA. What clay that was'nt mined locally was hauled in standard 3 bay hopper cars that were also used to haul coal.

I am working on a Model Railroad based on Missouri traffic. I know clay was once hauled in large quantities from central MO to the brick yards in Saint Louis. does anyone know what type of rolling stock would have been used to haul this material?
