I have spent 15 years running standard guage steam, deisel, and electrics at Illinois Railway Museum, and 10 years running miniture trains.
I have all versions of Trainmaster, and just got MSTS.
I think these programs do a good job of replicating the action of the trains, but cannot create the gut rummbling feel you get on a real locomotive.
I hope someone produces a control stand add on as using the keyboard for input is one of the games weakest points.

So how many of you folks out there in Train or Engine Service have played Microsoft's Train Simulator? And if so, how does it compare to real train handlling?
Of course, who would want to go home after work or during time off & play a game modeled after their job???
Matt
