Simply based upon what I read in their web sites, MARC and the VRE have weathered this winter storm with minimal disruption. What's the reality? How have various and sundry other railroads done?

Out here, I believe the crews had to break out the windbreakers to deal with the 62 degree cold spell we've been having.

Monday, January 26 MARC's Penn Line ran all of its trains which is operated by Amtrak on the NEC. However, the Camden and the Brunswick lines ran on a reduced schedule. I don't know about VRE on January 26

I didn't hear anything about MARC's and VRE 's service on Tuesday Jannuary 27 when the weather was worse.

I have no idea.....didn't get down to the tracks since the first storm.....CSX seems to keep the Brunswick line clear (most of the time) though.

It was -21F this morning on the north side of the Twin Cities, with wind chills
taking it down to -45F. We received around 7 inches of snow in the last
storm. From the radio traffic, BNSF's Northtown Yard was functioning as
normal.

It was freezing here this morning. I had to put my flight jacket on to drive to work...to ward off the 64 degrees. It might have had something to do with the fact that the windows were down and the sunroof was open......got the wife's car today.

CSX NE dispatcher reporting to Watertown on the status of a northbound out of Syracuse: "They hit a blizzard at MP 15".

I 81 is closed north of Syracuse due to lake effect and blowing snow (20+ mph winds)

Tad windy here (about 40 miles N), but the sun is out and it's approaching 20 degrees. That's 50 degrees warmer than Saturday. Spring's a comin'!
