Nice!
Yes, Hail ALCo!
I love the smell of ALCo smoke in the Morning. "Long live the 251!!!" I miss the GBW and my favorite uncle is Uncle Pete. Uncle Pete eats Space Noodles for breakfast.

You're right, I'm rarely on IM these days. I work as a DBA/Programmer at SBC downtown and stare at multiple PC's all day. So I rarely turn on my PC at home except to check e-mail and the forum from time to time. I check the forum occasionally at work, but we have an internal IM program here, so using AOL IM is forbidden. I'll try to log on sometime this weekend and look for you on AOL IM or something...

Mark,
you are on my AOL buddy list, but you are never on. What times are you on? Also, I will be at my house all day tomorrow, if at all possible I'd like to talk with you tomorrow, if that's ok with you? Hope to see/talk to you tomorrow! [:D]

Mark,
by any chance, do you live on New Hampshire, or Nurstgreen La? MP 12.5 is in fact the bridge that crosses both Grant's Trail (the former UP Carondelet Cutoff) and Gravois Creek. I don't know exactly when the Hotspot list will be up, soon I hope [xx(], when it is, you will get first notice. [;)][:D]

Where exactly is MP 12.5 on the River Sub? Is that Alpha I guess? I live behind the cemetary that butts up to the River Sub over by the Mutual signal, just south of Lindenwood. Hear trains at the Weber/New Hampshire and Valcour crossings all night long when I have the windows open. Nice pics. I guess if I see a guy with a camera along the River Sub near Grants Trail and 12.5, I'll introduce myself.

On another topic, when do you hope to get more work done on your site? Looking forward to the St. Louis area frequencies page to see if I need to make any updates to my scanner. I haven't changed my scanner freqs much in the last ten years, and I bet the railroads have made some changes.

trainheartedguy: I like the way that your photos also show the life around the RR and not just the train itself, I have tried that before, but it doesn't always work for me.

I often say that out of any given roll of film you might get one great picture. Digital cameras don't use film, but the ratio of pictures taken to great shots is about the same. I'm sure most photogs will agree.

That said, nice shots. Very powerful,

Kevin, it's NOT dumb to admit you don't know how to do something. It's only dumb
when you pretend to know when you don't and don't ask how something is done.

I think the photos are great. The angles for all of them are good. I do like the shots when you have a train approaching but are still able to capture the consist while still enjoying the photo.
