Hello all! I am new to the board and I just wanted to introduce myself. I am Mark, an engineer for Amtrak for 10 years now. I dont like making dramatic introductions so to make it short, hows my fellow RR Fans hangging. If you have any question to ask me, just reply to this message.[:D]

Mark, Welcome-

For many reasons, I like to follow the Amtrak scene pretty close, and usually throw something out when the subject comes up on a thread. Feel to correct me anytime I'm off base.

What are your usual assignments? I've had a few trips that way and might have had the pleasure...

Thanks for the warm welcomes. Im glad to be here and really looking forward to having great conversations with you all. I'm a continental engineer. I usually engineer the California Zephyr. If you every want to go to California, The CZ is one of our best. For David here, the genesis engines are really cool to be on. If you have any questions on them, you can ask me. Mark, I usually see the California Zephyr run through my home town of Aurora, IL on Saturdays and sometimes on Sundays. If you happen to think of it, look for a bunch of us parked on the West side of Eola yards just before you get into downtown Aurora. We are usually parked right accross the tracks from the yardmasters office and engine storage area. You'll know you are at the right spot as you will have to blow for the McClurg Road crossing and see the cars on your left as you pass Westbound or on your right as you pass Eastbound. Give us a very distinctive signal when you pass so we know it is you (let me know what kind of a distinctive sound you can make and we'll watch for you and wave). Jim (Eolafan) in Aurora, IL

I'll remember that Jim. Last time I was out there I remember seeing people at Eola yards. I'll let you know when Amtrak sends me back out that way. I live near philly so I'll see whats going on in the next few months. Do you have any pictures of the California Zephyr going through Eola yards? If you have alot of pix, I am probably in one. That would be cool.
