i have never once been spammed on MSN. I've had AOL IM and Yahoo for several years now and have been spammed only once on Yahoo.

I am hoping Nora might stop in here and leave us some info on her trip. That would be really nice if she would [:D]

I am hoping that her trip will encourage other forum members to at least reach out by email and touch someone. Of course the good old fashioned handshake isn't a bad way to meet some of our good forum people either. But at least an email or even msn messenger chat is better than nothing.

I never had that problem with it. Maybe Mikey has some ideas, because I sure don't.

On the BRR forum I could never post under my own name or even get into chat. They said it had something to do with AOL changing "something" every few seconds.

MSN does kick us out every now and then. Joe has a lot of problems with that. But for the most part it will only kick out one person and not the whole chat group.

Puckdropper is good with computers, maybe he has some ideas that might help you.

She won't need a picture of Mookie, since there is already one on the forum, which is a good place to say - post your picture on the forum and then the film can be used for trains and not forum people and that's all I gotta say on this subject...............breathe!

Forum rumor has it that Nora is gallivanting through the upper midwest and meeting forum folks. Jim is very jealous as he is stuck at work and not even getting a day off.

Maybe Nora will take some nice pics of the good forum folks and share them with us. [:)] [8D]

Actually more and more of the forum members will be meeting this summer. I can't give any names right now but will as I can.

If I can get a few days off I am going to St. Louis, by train of course. I will get to meet 3 or 4 of our forum members (some of them are msn messenger members too).

As I have only heard from one of them by today I can only say that one family enjoyed their meeting. But I would wager that both families really did [:)]

Many of you email me and I always try and return emails. Mookie calls her email "fan mail", as she has a large and devout following. All hail Queen Mookie. [;)]

There have been many new email friendships formed through the forums. Our msn messenger chat group is growing and new friendships are forming there also. Everyone is invited to join the msn messenger chat group. You need to download the msn messenger is you don't already have it. The download is free and our msn messenger chats are always fun.

I always welcome emails to me. I always welcome pics. I try and trade pics are often as possible. If you have never emailed me please feel free to do so.
[:)]

Now some great news. [8D] [:)]

Last weekend 2 of our young teen forum members (they are also msn messenger chat members) had planned to railfan at the same location. They were not sure or not if they would be able to be there at the same time but had hoped to be. As it worked out they were there at the same time and had the opportunity to meet. We can thank the forums for bring two railfans together. Now they are planning new trips together to railfan. One of them made the comment that it was nice to finally have someone about their own age to railfan with. Then they road off into the sunset on the Sunset Limited [:D] [:D] Just joking about the train ride into the sunset but they did have fun so this meeting does have a happy ending.

Now this coming weekend two adult forum member (and maybe their families) are planning to meet. Love (of trains [:D] [;)] ) is bringing them together. Once again these people are not only forum members but also msn messenger chat group members too.

The forum is forging new friendships not only email friendships but honest "I know that person" friendships. Isn't that great.

Later this spring I am planning a quick trip to St. Louis, by train of course, to meet some forum members and visit the museum there.

Even if you don't list your email addy you can still email forum members that do and begin email friendships. The forum posts take on new meaning when someone you "know" makes a post. It will also help to keep down the little disagreements that have happened in the various forums. [:)]

As the cereal commercial said, "Try it, you'll like it." [:D] [;)] [:D] And Mikey ate the whole bowl. [:o)] [:0] [:p] [}:)] [;)] [8D] [:)] [:D]

Yes, you are missing out.

Just last night in our msn chat, I was able to provide some info that helped someone accomplish a task that they were having trouble with. This saved them a lot of time and work.

It certainly is nice to know that your forum family would check on you to see how things are going. And that they would lift you up and make you smile or encourage you. These things have happened to me and I also do the same for others. When you email the forum members most of them reply if they have their email addy showing. For those who don't you really are missing out on friendships, fun, email, pics, etc. etc. etc..

As Mikey Gaw pointed out, you can get a hotmail account or a juno account and use it. This way you don't give out your main email address unless you want to do so.

I know several forum members who are planning trips to see each other and railfan together. That is super. Why. Because they formed friendships by email and in the forums. Modelers can help each other with problems. Have many times have you wanted to make a post but were embarrassed to do so? But you might ask one or two email friends about your situation and get some helpful info.

I have received phone calls from forum members and have mailed things to forums members. They have called me also and send me things also. You really are missing out by being a "no show" for your email addy.

Consider getting a hotmail account and using it for your forum email. I use my regular aol account and have had no problems. You can try it for a while and even close the account if you really think it is necessary. But why not try it?

I believe that our conversation, here in the forums, should be such that not one person would be offended. This is a goal that most likely is not achievable. It is simply too easy to make a statement that could be inturrpeted in a way that the speaker had not intended. Then they are some who simply love to throw a little "fuel" on the fire, then sit back and watch the 3-alarm fire that consumes the thread. Kenno posted some Bible verses in a thread earlier today. I read these verses from the book of James. They are powerful, and a much needed reminder about the tongue and the trouble it can cause. We should all strive to make our conversation as non-offensive as possible.

As far as making comments that "everyone" in the forum could read, let me say this. Many times I get an email from someone to update me on personal issues. Some of these issues are health related and the "sender" only wanted me to know how they were doing and what was going on in their life. Sometimes these issues are for special circumstances in their life that they are sharing with me in private, sometimes asking for advice or prayer. So I am only too happy to help or lend an ear.

Now about pictures. I love receiving pics that you have taken and want to share with me. Railroads pics are great, but I appreciate other items as well. Don't be afraid to send me an email or pic.

If you would like to see something posted but would rather not post it yourself, then you may send it to me. I don't guarantee that I will post everything but will take a look at it and see about posting it. I will give you credit if you want me to, or leave you out of the picture if you so desire.

As I have said before, I have worked a lot with youth in churches I have attended. I am a "youth" minded person and have a tendacy to "watch out" for them. I very much believe in setting a good example for them to follow and don't take lightly of posts which do otherwise.

Most of you know that I am an honest, sincere, fun loving, caring person. I enjoy these forums very much. I enjoy the interaction of emails, posts, receiving pics, and the "family" aspect that we have in the forums. I very much look forward to reading the forums each day and trying to make worth-while, humorus, and intelligent comments/posts. I hope you agree. I also am not afraid to ask a question and seek the knowledge of those who can answer it. I am always open to comments/questions/etc. that are sincere and honest.

You may email me at anytime. You may email a pic anytime.

Thanks to and for all my forum family. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
