On October 29, 1983 one of my grad-school roommates who wasn't really a railfan decided he wanted to go shoot pictures of the very last GG1 runs, so I happily obliged. This was the last southbound we saw (and I'm pretty sure the last southbound ever, but I can't say that positively).
