Only thing I can tell you is that interstate 290 better known as the Eisenhower expressway was built on or alongside the old mainline out to Elmhurst , Illinois. Beyond that, I'm not sure where the tracks ran. Traces of the old mainline are still visible along the expressway on the northside in the form of bridges and overpasses as far as Elmhurst.

can any of you help me find info on the Chicago And eastern Illinois railroad? i am looking for maps, equipment rosters, etc..... i have checked the C&EI historical society, and was thnking of writing them. any help you can give me on this railroad would be greatly appreciated.
