I know there was a private charter of the 1003 by the steamspecials.com group sometime in here, so that could have been what you saw. I don't remember seeing a date that they were supposed to be running, though I didn't pay for the trip, and with the prices they charge I doubt they release that information to the general public.

SOO 2-8-2 #1003 running in Central Wisconsin today

I caught her in Brandon around 4 p.m. The engine, 8 hoppers, 4 or 5
gondolas and SOO caboose 268 were performing a run-by for a line of
photogs at the Hwy. 49 crossing. Mighty impressive looking and sounding
machine.

I know her next public outing is Nov. 10-11 for the Santa trains. Was today's outing a tune-up for those trips?
