Galesburg Webcam Moving
Posted by David3 on Friday, January 9, 2004 7:59 PM
The Galesburg webcam is moving to a new location. It says it will stay in Galesburg but move to the "Mendota Sub", where Amtrak, and more freight operations occur. They say that this change will be for the better, I sure hope it is. To see more info or to see where the camera is now go to http://64.40.92.210:1100/video/med.html , the news is right under the camera.

That was a good camera, although the viewing was a bit limited. If you got your timing right, you could catch a train on the Willis cam, then at Fort Madison, or vice versa.

I haven't checked the Medota Museum site lately, so don't know if it's back on line. Would they both now be on the same rail line? Virtual train chasing! [8D]

You usually saw them an hour later in one of the cameras depending on which way they were going, by the way does anybody know where the Mendota Sub in Galesburg is?

The Mendota sub heads North over Main Street and leaves town running parallel to Lincoln Street.. Then goes through Wataga.
