UP Cane Creek Sub

Has anyone heard or read anything about UP re-using the Cane Creek Sub to Potash,UT . I was passing thru Moab, UT last Sat.Jone 30th and saw a track inspector leading a weed sprayer about half way between the Crescent Jct(mainline) and the tunnel above Moab. Maybe this is just required maintanence even on out of service track.
