I believe the Pantagraph (Bloomington IL) ran an article on it. It may have been the Peoria Journal Star... That was many years ago, but if you find the newspaper's websites they may allow you to search for it.

Bloomer (BLOL, 47 miles) keeps their power near the NS interchange at Gibson City near where the grain elevator that operates the line, Alliance Grain, is headquartered. It is 47 miles of ex-IC and NS/WAB lines that connect at Strawn. There also is a gaggle of little diesel mice switching the elevators at "Gib City". Locomotives (3) are all in the CBQ Chinese Vermillion paint scheme. Well run for a shortline. Trains run as needed.

Mutt: I-65 north to I-74 west to Illinois Rte 47 north to Gibson City (17 miles North of I-74), about 250 miles from you....[;)]

I was wondering about the Bloomer Line in Central Illinois. Do they run certain days of the week and where are the power kept at? I was thinking about railfanning that area but wanted to know more.
