I can't add much, but you probably know you're close.
The headquarters are in Rural Hall and the train runs to Mount Airy (once or twice a week, I believe), and several times each week through Elkin to Roaring River in WIlkes County. It services a Tyson Foods feed mill in Roaring River as well as a chip mill. The railroad has not abandoned the line from there to North Wilkesboro (where I am) but it never comes this far any more.
If you need any other info, feel free to contact me at cswilliams@wilkes.net

It is one of the holding of Pete Claussen's Gulf & Ohio Rail Holdings, along with the Laurinburg & Southern, the Lexington & Ohio, and a new one, Three Notch Railroad, formerly Alabama & Florida, which Pete bought from CSXT, sold to Pioneer Railcorp., and has bought back. HQ is Knoxville, TN.
