Walter Rich, President and CEO of the New York Susquehanna & Western Railroad (NYSW) lost his battle with cancer early Thursday morning August 9, 2007. He will be remembered by many in the railroad industry as a leader in the short line industry that grew out of the post Staggers Act deregulated railroads. Walter was 61.
