Posted by bnsfkline on Friday, December 26, 2003 11:03 PM
With Sara out of the hospital and about 45 miles down the road of recovery...I decided to make a switch. Not about the type of ppl I date (I intend to stay with sara...I dont wanna be gay) I am converting from HO scale to N scale. My first locomotive is an Atlas SD35 in Western Maryland Locomotive already equipt with DCC. I hope ya'll arnt mad

It's really great to hear that Sara's getting better! N gauge is too small for me, but if you prefer it I hope you have lots of fun with it.

I am curious as to why you decided to switch! I love HO, but I had to switch it would be to N!

N has it's plusses and minus, all of which have been discussed many times. I like the fact that I can put together a pretty expansive layout in limited space best suited for an HO switching layout. On the other hand, the eyes aren't what they used to be, and given the resources, I'd probably go with HO if I started over.

Technologically, the two scales are becoming more and more equal. DCC is readily available for both, and the machinery aspects are on a par now as well. Accessories (buildings, vehicles, scenery items) are excellent for N now, too.

Either way, the whole idea is to have fun! The Tug Hill & Northern is coming along slowly, but it's coming along!
