I will be checking out today at 3 pm CST and checking into the recliner in the front room until January 5th! Going to sleep, watch trains, read, watch trains, gotta new book for Xmas - Classic Trains, watch trains and maybe watch a few trains. (Driver has look of dread that I will be trackside in my fuzzy nightgown with tje handwarmers in the front! - Bet that's more than you wanted to know!)

So you all play nice while I am gone. Save the good stuff for when I get back!

To each and every one of you and your spouses, parents, sibs or significant other and the Trains Staff, Happy Holidays from the Mookie, the Driver and the Real Mookie! See you next year!

Jen

We'll be waiting for you to return, Mookie! Hope you have a fun trip! I think I also got that book for Christmas, too (from my grandma). Is it a big hardcover book by Hans Halberstadt?

Have a good trip.

I spent a couple of years at UNL, '79/80 & '80/81, back when Rock Island was still running through campus. Transferred to KSC and then got the heck out on graduation. Too cold in winter for my taste! :-)

We'll miss you this coming week. But make the most of it!

Between family staying here tonight, then our going to the North Country for the next night, I'll be out of it for a while after this, too.

Very observant! I wear an ear cuff on each ear. I decided long ago that if I wanted to wear some kind of earring - I would have to go to the hospital for about a week, be completely put to sleep and then have my ears pierced and be sedated until they healed - plus probably treated with antibiotics! Ergo, I wear a koala bear cuff on the left ear and just a small ring on the right ear. Have done this for years and years and you won't see the Mook w/o her "jewelry" (many rings, too!) unless she is sick or assuming room temp! [;)]

Enjoy, enjoy and enjoy.....be safe with famiuly and friends. I'm sure the time off will give you time to think about new trains of thought that will leave us all scrambling.

Happy holidays,

Tinsel Feathers

ps....If the train under the tree derails, it's an operating problem! Maintenance has the week off!

MC - I am one of those weird individuals that would rather work than be off! But University rules are that we don't get the state holidays during the year, but rather accumulate them and then shut down the school from just before Xmas to after New Years! I hate it, except I get to train watch at better times. I would rather be here to do the work which is interesting and the forum, since I don't have all this at home. But - the forums needs a break...
