Trouble for the Texas State Railroad

Hard times for everyone with the uneven rain across the nation.

Texas has recieved so much rain lately, especially in July. All the news reports are varied, but from what I have read 16 people have died in the flooding so far. One report I read said there was 3 inches of rain from just one storm. As for the Texas State Railroad, the rains caused a river to flood which washed out their tracks. In addition, the rain softened the ground where their passenger cars were parked and a tree fell on one of them. The story is on the Trains Newswire.

I feel really bad for the Texas State Railroad. I just read on the Trains Newswire about a washout that occured along their tracks in addition to a recent collision. All I can say is that I hope everything goes well for them. I work on a tourist line myself, and I don't think our railroad could survive with the kinds of problems the Texas State face. Hopefully under new ownership it finds the money it needs. All the best Texas State, Joe.
