Hi, <br />It has been a rumour around for a while, and they do co-ordinate a lot of traffic, but don't look for anything soon. The STB likely wouldn't allow it, and their new rules make it extremely difficult to pull off a merger of that size now. Instead look for more alliances and partnerships, which is the route UP is taking at this time anyway. These partnerships are serving them well at this time like, the express lane with CSX, the auto business with NS, and the partnership with CP in Idaho.
