The locomotive that brings back the most memories for me is the E unit the New Haven used. It wasn't so much the locomotive but the whistle. For some reason, the New Haven had a peculiar whistle, and it didn't sound like an air horn. I last heard one (talk about poor taste in movies) in the original Superman movie- where Lex Luthor's eeeevil henchman is going into Lex's hideout under cover of a NH commuter departing Grand Central Station. <br />I have been fascinated by GG-1's but have never seen one "in real life". I wonder what the inside was like?
