I lived in Pittsburgh for a while back in the mid-60's, and this was a common occurrance on the 40 Mt Washington streetcar line, which was still running along with virtually all of the east end and the south side. When it happened (which it did even several times per trip every time I rode it), the motorman and all the guys on board would just get off, go surround the illegally parked car, and start bouncing it until we got it going well enough to bounce it up onto the curb/sidewalk. Then we'd all get back on and head on down the line.

It was well-known--almost an "unwritten law" that illegal parkers blocking the tracks were subject to bouncing.

Imagine doing that in today's litigous society.[(-D][(-D][:-,][banghead][banghead][banghead]
