I recently had Kalmbach customer service straighten out some glitches in my account.
Now when I post, I get the box that says moderators must review my post before it is made visible. My recollection was that there was a probationary period when I first joined, but then after a while there was no more delay in posts appearing.
My guess is that because of the account changes, I am "new" again. Does anyone know how long it will take to be back in the fold?
Still in training.
Well, that appeared pretty quickly. Let's see if this one goes right up.
It did! I am worthy.
The system is set up so that a cerain number of a new member's first posts have to be approved by a moderator at Kalmbach before they see the light of day. This goes back to the days of when they had terrible troll issues. The assumption is that if you don't go bonkers after a set number of posts, you must be OK.
Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.

And that does not prevent someone from 'going bonkers' with many posts under their belt.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
It does happen.. words are said, feelings get hurt.. and off the cliff they go.. nutos.. bonkers.
The anti-troll actions seem to be working, even that guy from Ohio seems to have disappeared (finally).
Or is this just because fewer and fewer people find this forum interesting enough to bother posting on?

The probation time/# of posts, has less to do with the nutt'o's going bonkers, than with stopping the spamatiser. Show that you have some interest in trains, either knowledge of, or desire to know, and you are off probation. Show that all you want to do is get off probation so you can sell spurious wares and you will have to be on probation a long time.
If you are trying to use the forum to make money for yourself you probably won't be wasting your time trying to get off probation by feining interest, so you can sneak in a bunch of advertisements when you think no admin/moderator is awake and watching.
Some try to get off probation by just making lots of "me too" and "Wow, what you said is right." useless comments, but if there is a moderator watching instead of a bot counting posts, the useless posts will keep you on probation forever, or maybe release the probation, but put you on a list that watches closer for the first spamatisement and chops it up before others see it.

Apparently it could not detect that I was bonkers before I joined.

Hey - I resemble that remark...
I wasn't on moderation, but was in limbo for a bit as the system recognized me as an existing member, but wanted me to put in a new screen name... That's fixed now, too.
