Is this real??
It is a 'photoshop'. I did NOT do the original that you show, but I had fun with it by removing the last pier. Copying the water overtop the girders to make it disappear is very easy. Taking out the pier was just as easy. But I think that adding the end panel and the shadow on it was probably a wee bit harder.

Well that's a relief. Here I was thinking they're waiting for members of another union to come and finish the bridge.
I believe that if the picture was real, the truncated end would show girder cross-section, and the end would not be square, but on the bias to match the support piers and pedestals.

No F'n way is it real! If the end of the bridge was known to be missing - the train would NEVER have been allowed on the bridge. If the missing portion of the bridge was swept away by some action by Mom's Nature the visible end of the bridge would show some form of damage or at the very least rail dangling down to the water.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
BOB WITHORNNow that is a VERY expensive switch lead.

Looks like for the 'end panel' they just copied a segment of the side of the girder just this side of the closest truss - note the same shadow shape as under the stake flat next to the boxcar (caused by the overhanging platform there - for a signal?).
- PDN.
You got it! I was wondering why the vertical components were closer together! Makes perfect sense and makes it a much easier task!
Probably would make for a good scene in a Steven Seagal, James Bond, or Jason Bourne, etc. type movie!
Always someone who wants to wreck the fun.
Savage TunnelI think it is sad that someone could be so naive and unknowing to even think that is real. I guess if it was Canadian the OP would have known right away.
A shame you aren't Canadian, maybe you would have learned how to be polite eh.
Now take off ya hoser!

And if they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy!
"Adventures with Bill" was always my favourite segment.
The best "repair" he ever did was modifying a HO-scale locomotive to power his windshield wipers, with liberal use of duct tape of course.
I am continually impressed by your knowledge of Canadian classics!

I liked Red Green's cameo in Due South. That was a classic on two levels.
It's been fun. But it isn't much fun anymore. Signing off for now.
The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of my employer, any other railroad, company, or person.t fun any

Come on Guys!
Lighten UP!
Enjoy it for what it is!
Seems like eveyone is trying to 'overanalyze' The OP's photo....
P.S. My favorite Red Green scenes were in their film " Duct Tape Forever" [pronounced as, Duck Tape] particluarly, when Harold wants the gang to enter the 3M Contest being held 'across the line' in Minnesota! of all places, but the prize is $10K for building a Goose [Canadian??] outa Duct Tape will be used to save the Possum Lodge from closure byu the Town Council...
Slightly off topic did any notice that all pylons supporting the bridge were inline with the probable water flow ? Makes sense !
I just happen to watching on TV the movie "A Bridge Too Far" while checking the forums. It occurs to me the caption for this picture could be "A Bridge Not Far Enough."
Jeff
Waiting for the crew just out of sight to the left to finish their part of the bridge!
