I really like CP's new reefer containers with their extra cubic capacity.  That capacity is not needed so much for the temperature controlled shipments, but it sure comes in handy for a dry load backhaul.  It's always best to move the equipment both ways under revenue load.

Now if the CN would just catch on and use such equipment on their Iowa line they'd score a great deal of profitable traffic moving red meat, eggs and some turkey meat.  The CN's Iowa line serves this business better than any other rail route in North America.  It's steady business, high volume, and long haul.  Best of all, it fetches high freight charges.

CN has had their CargoCool containers for a while now. 

CP has a lot of catching up to do. With how gridlocked CN is in western Canada, CP has a good chance at winning some traffic back.

I agree as much as anybody here that CN is missing the boat by not bringing intermodal back to its former IC/ICG/CC Iowa Division mainline but again the nagging question, can they make improvements to the tunnel at East Dubuque, IL to remove restrictions? I like the move that CPRS has made here as well. Now if they'd just bring back trailers as part of their intermodal mix here in the U.S.
