Excellent PR in the face of all the perceived turmoil over at CSX
Yes, it is. Because in spite of everything CSX had over a billion more in revenue than NS in 2017 and sent a higher percentage of that revenue to the bottom line.
That is not a pro-or-con statement for EHH and PSR - it is just what their final 2017 financial results show.
You have to read into what NS doesn't say. They say they have put a lot of effort into the strategic plan. That is true. But, the tactical plan is being left behind, I fear. Their performance numbers are bad and not trending in the right direction. The railroad is running slowly and a slow railroad is an expensive one.
Look at this week's dwell numbers for Birmingham and Bellevue. They look like they are on the verge of meltdown, to me and these are the large hubs in the north and the south of the network. Good thing they don't impinge on the Premier Intemodal corridor...
