Some are Cast Iron, and usually Painted Red with Yellow Letttering. <br /> <br /> Others are Cast Brass/Bronze and usually have Red Background with Metal Showing. <br /> <br /> <br /> There is a List Published of 'Known' CN Steam Number Plates, over 600, and the Material of which they are made. <br /> <br /> <br /> Thank You, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
