Photos of the Milwaukee Road towards the end.   A good chunk with comments by the Milwaukee Road Locomotive Engineer that took the picture.

Terrific stuff. The picks of all the motive power, from the Pacific Extension, all lined up and stored were haunting. They kept many of their FM switchers and EMD F's almost to the bitter end.

CP knew what a prize they had in the Milwaukee.

CP picked up the Milwaukee Road primarily for the Chicago-Twin Cities main, which was a major improvement over the Soo Line.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

You Betcha!   Thanks for posting this link... Photos and comments from the perspective that Tom F...had are a real look back into History, and the daily 'grind' of things on the MILW.... BEFORE !

I would guess that his 'on the scene' extemporaneous photos of MILW railroaders getting the 'word' that MILW had filed for bankruptcy; are few and far between...  Modeler's who have to enjoy the real deal 'kitbashing' that reflect someone's sense of humor [especially the photo of the 'covered wagon unit -'Milwaukeee Rod' on its side; apparently, to 'honor' an negineer nicknamed "Milwaukee Rod". Pretty cool stuff.  Cool   ]
