Edit. Typo 136 lb rail. 1/4 mile long ribbon rail was put down on either side of the main. Quite a long set pf flatcars. I had typed 156 lb. was in a hurry and did not proof read.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Did somebody actually say the track had 156-lb rail? What is it really?
Best guess from the photos I've seen is 136 lb. which would match MBTA's standard. The replacement rail on the NECR installed a couple of years ago was 115 lb.
The PRR used 155/156 lb rail. Current standards on many roads are in the 136-141 lb range.

I corrected my first message. The rail is 136 lb. Did not proof read. I have a picture of the label on the rail.
The rail was right along a rail trail I ride my bicycle on.
Interesting to see 1/4 mile long ribbon rail being pulled of the flat cars when the rail was put down some time ago on either side of the main. Rich
