The 3985 departed North Little Rock about 45 minutes late this morning. [:(]

There was a good crowd to see her off, especially considering it was around 38 degrees with a light wind. I only got one shot but hope it turns out ok.

Let me tell you the steam and smoke plume was awsome in the chilly weather. I was standing on a bridge on McArthur Drive (for General Douglas McArthur), this road leads to another road which goes to Camp Robinson, an Army National Guard Camp. It was cold so the steam made a nice site to see. It is a real experience seeing a steam engine on the mainline during weather like this.

I would agree. I caught her thursday at the One Track Mind store in Mabelvale. She made tracks because of traffic and it was about a minute's worth of video in my camera. I may be able to harvest a few stills out of it.

Alas I was not able to see her off this morning. Wanted to thank you for your assistance on schedules etc during her time here in our state. It was alot of help to me.

The railrans were well behaved and there were several non fans who apparently never saw a living steam engine before. I had a hard time not looking at some of these folk who were "awed" by this monster and perhaps a little fear at the noise and power of the locomotive. I am happy that they were able to see this in our life time.
