The NEW documentary 20th Century Limited is an exciting project that is progressing along nicely. Just this past week, I had the pleasure of conducting the last interview for the film. We have recorded over two dozen people this year. My travels have taken me to New York City (Grand Central Terminal), Albany, New York (Albany Union Station), Washington, D.C. and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Several interviews were also conducted in the Denver area. These interviews provided a great deal of information about the train. We were delighted to record stories of so many people: historians, authors, photographers, passengers, railroad employees, and best of all, two people who worked on the train. What information they shared, what great photos they provided, and what memories they have of their journey on the 20th Century Limited.

What’s next? Talented writer Peter A. Hansen will be sifting through 10 plus hours of video, selecting the best clips, and weaving them into a story that will celebrate the train. Television/movie actor/storyteller Michael Gross will be in Denver to do the on-camera and voice-over work in February.

As part of the team I’ve had the pleasure of working with four top-notch video/audio people: Dirk Phannenstiel, Marc Ricciardi, Steve McConnell and Dave Schaaf.

For 65 years the 20th Century Limited plied the rails between New York and Chicago carrying who’s who in the entertainment world, business executives, and world leaders. This film will use a large variety of images both still and moving to support the story about the 20th Century Limited: The Most Famous Train in America.
