WHERE DO I CLICK TO FIND INSTRUCTIONS  ... <snip> ...  AND OTHER WAYS TO EFFICIENTLY USE THE FORUM.

    I feel your pain Sad

Even though trains.com mostly is for 'edutainment', Kalmbach should be beaten up more about the deficiencies of this web site:

    - As you noted, there don't seem to be any HOWTOs, FAQs or other documentation

    - The site response time is Ungodly Dog S*** SLOW!  They went to the expense to buy/lease commercial software but to what benefit?

    Back to your questions:

    - The Search dialog on the right hand column of most pages works. You're correct, I don't know if more advanced searching e.g. boolean operators are supported.

    - Cut and paste between different topics requires you to open multiple browser tabs. The 'quote' function only works within one topic - be considerate and delete all unrelated parts of the quote, especially inline images.

BTW using ALL CAPS is much harder to read and can be interpreted as SHOUTING.

Likewise, punctuation is Free on this site. Shorter sentences are easier to read and understand.
