Old Track Question

  • Have 30 year old track, restore or can and purchase new. Best "Medium" cost choice for new? Thanks!

  • Are you talking model track ? -- If so, what scale ?

  • Sorry, HO scale. Track looks pretty bad, three replacements were shown - Atlas, Easy Track and one other European name.
  • Couple more questions.
    (a) How much of this do you have ?
    (b) are you saying that you have those three types ?
    (c) you say that it "looks pretty bad" -- is it just that the rails are tarnished ? or
    (d) are the ties damaged ?

    New track (Atlas code 100 flextrack) can be bought for approx. $3 per 3 foot length.
    If you need a lot -- Modelpower code 100 is only $100 for 300 feet.

  • If it's got brass or steel rail, scrap it and get nickle silver.

    If it's got paper/fiber ties, scrap it.
