What DId You See Today

  • I don't know how to reopen this topic so I would like to open it again because as I was traveling up the NJ Turnpike a few weeks ago as I was nearing Newark airport I saw a three loco latchup. NS, CSX and in between a UP. A week later I saw a black switcher with red Southern Pacific markings. I wonder if anyone got a chance to get some pictures.

  • No Jersey pictures, but Monday in Rochelle, Illinois, I saw a Southern RR boxcar that must have been at least thirty years old in its design ("Southern Gives a Green Light to Innovation). I also saw two NS locos and a third UP hauling a stack train west toward Clinton.

  • I saw an old Southern boxcars with the old slogan as well.. It was sitting in front of the Glendale, CA station Wednesday afternoon and it caught my eye.

  • About 8:00 AM, saw a bright red US ARMY switcher sandwiched between two UP locos on a freight through Marysville CA, southboun on the SP line. Its's probably in Roseville now, although the line to Beal AFB is just a few miles south of Marysville so it might have been going there.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.
