New WebCams

We need to have a webcam at Dolton! It is the hottest train spot in the Chicago Land Area. There's well over 100+ trains per day. Those 100+ trains include, CSX, IHB, UP, CONRAIL, NS, BNSF, BN, SF, SSL, CN and IC will sometimes send through a few trains, SOO, WC, AND LOTS MORE!! You never know what will come. I have been to Dolton 4 times so far, and I have seen at least 30 trains in 3 and a half hours. Thats a train about every 7 minutes. Come on, CAN YOU GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT? [:)] We also need one at Pine Junction in Gary, Indiana. Over 100+ trains go through there a day also. Those 100+ trains include CSX, UP, NS, IHB, SSL, EJ&E, BNSF, BN, SF, CP, CN, WC, IC, SOO, AND THERE ARE LOTS MORE INCLUDING LOTS OF LEASERS! [:)] Some other places where there should be webcams are, BLUE ISLAND, ILLINOIS, JOLIET UNION STATION IN JOLIET, ILLINOIS. CONGRESS PARK IN LAGRANGE, ILLINOIS, FRANKLIN PARK, ILLINOIS. The places where I would like these most is Joliet Union Station in Joliet, Illinois, Pine Junction in Gary, Indiana, and Dolton Junction right by the """DIAMOND""" Do all you other train fans agree with me? If Trains.com could put webcams at Joliet Union Station, Pine Junction, and Dolton, train fans would have LOTS of fun watching trains online!! [:)] Thank you all for your support!

Ya I agree with you,But Trains said there are no plans for New Webcams go to www.livetrains.com email them and tell em your Ideas maybe they will consider them.I agree tho need something New for sure Nick Good Luck.At Live Trains there suppose to be adding a Newer Cam for FT Madison and ones for Belen NM and Brea Ohio.and Etc.

Personally I prefer to go to Cal Park junction over Dolton. No question about the trains at Dolton but most of them go through Cal PArk about two miles east with none of the wires to contend with and better camers angles in my opinion. But don't tell anybody so it doesn't get crowded. :-).

I have a question, does anyone know is there a cam that is track side where you can make out the freight car road numbers?

main lines are cool, but what about a yard cam? How about horse shoe curve?

I doubt there is one of those out there at the moment.

Because most of the CAMs only run a frame every few seconds, and because of the speed of the trains it's nearly impossible to do.

Web cams are neat, but the quality is far from good enough to make it a real sit down and watch experience. -- At least for any amount of time.

Although it was fun to try and catch the same train at Ft Madison and Galesburg. Never did do it...

Watching a cam for a while sometimes means you can catch something unusual - a rail grinder or a highrail car. Of course, you also get bumped from time to time and have to refresh...

I wi***here was one for Marion, Ohio. Its my most favorite place to watch trains. Dolton sounds very interesting with all that traffic.

[banghead] I just did my first time on traincam at night. I suppose it`s better during the day and maybe livelier! I`ll try agine when it`s not 12 midnight!
