Your Favorite Class 1

  • My favorite is Burlington Northern because I grew up with Burlington Norhtern in Chicago along their 3 track mainline to Aurora

  • "Northern Pacific" should've been on there. "Rock Island" should've been on there. "Down & Back, Maybe" should've been on there.
  • I agree w/ ya pat BNSF is cool. I too like the Pumkin paint scheme. Whoever thought of BNSF's paint knew wut he was doing. I also like the SF warbonet paint scheme. BNSF's routes are very senic too like Cajon Pass, Marias Pass, and the Power River Coal Basin.

  • BNSF is the best because of the paint scheme on the locomotives and they have the routes in the best places (montana).

But I will always like CN because they go through my home town
  • Oviously I had to vote for CSX it's the railroad I grew up on. When I was born in 1986 so was CSX. My second choice would have to be the good old PRR. It's gone but not forgoten[:(][8)]

  • I went with the BNSF
  • I voted for Norfolk Southern but only because the Virginian wasn't on the list.
  • [:)] since i is from illinois I.C.R.R. is my choice since ic had more rr track in ill. than any other rr at one time for many years. a very well rr years ago. first big rr in ill. abe lincoln worked on it as a lawyer. thanks.[:)]
  • Kinda hard to pick one because I grew up with 3 those being Canadian Pacific, Canadian National and Burlington northern.
  • I've always been very fond of CSX having grown up around the B&O and Western Maryland RR. My grandfather was a breakman for the B&O and I remember going to the yards and watching him work and riding the the cab with the engineers. You can't really get away with that now.
  • CSX IS MY FAVORITE FOR A CHANGE! ACCORDING TO CBQ_Guy I SHOULD NOT SAY "RULES"!
    FELLOW RAILFAN,

CN has been running some really long intermodal trains out of Roberts Bank...

I think the longest was somewhere around 14000 feet.

I know I often see them hitting 140, 150 cars on a normal day..... can take a long time when they are passing by at 20 Miles an hour... [:)]
