The usual, running trains at the location of the photos, taking lots of photos, creating a wireless network for my house, playing XBOX360, and hanging out with friends and family. How about you? How's the N Scale layout coming along?

My little N scale is progressing nicely. Dont ever let my borrow that XBOX if yours. It wouldn't be returned in one piece. LOL

  • Why don't you like video games? I don't play it often...........Blush [:I] I just finished a round of Need For Speed:Carbon. One heck of a good game.

Lance: I can't really give tips for general photographs, only specifics! The best advice I can give right now is to practice, practice, practice...and make sure to use a tripod as much as possible. Which I forgot to bring to the light show....so I had to use the mini-tripod for everything, which is a PAIN. (I always carry a little tripod with me at all times, just in case)

Last night I went to a light show at the zoo, and guess what it was called...

Once in, we were greeted by a horse and cart...

Monkey trees! The monkey flashes across the rope, but because of the exposure, I got it in all its stages.

    A tunnel of candy canes!

Not totally sure what happened with this picture....Tiger on a gift shop!

"'Cause the power you're supplyin'...it's electrifying!"

I tried some funky ones that would be my parents in sharp focus with a bunch of blurry lights, but...they didn't work out all that well.

A view up the trunk of a well-lit tree:

The same photo, with really high contrast to appeal to the druggies! Tongue [:P]

    "zOMFG DRAAAAGOOON"

Tried some more weird blur stuff on the way out....

    Then I saw...THE MOON!

    Very Nice!

Good job for starting it, I was last minute invited to a New Year's party, so I couldn't...

Railfanning ATM is total crap...it's very dark, too warm, and not winter enough. Plus, as I type, I'm trying to bring my computer into what could in theory be defined as an operational state...old POS....

I know what you mean on the railfanning end of things Matt. Around here it was cloudy, rainy and just general gloomy-dark for almost all but one day of my Christmas Break (although I did get to take advantage of that day). Of course, the day I go back to school though, mister sun decides to show up! And, it's been in the 50s around here! I just want some snow to do some winter shots, none of this 50 degree weather.....

I did get a little Model Railroading done though over break, so I guess the one advantage of gloomy weather is that it forces me into the basement.

  • Down here we haven't seen snow in over a year.

With the exception of Cabela's hunting games and Medal of Honor, I like videogame like the average joe likes lawyers.

  • I officially hate the weather in 2007...first day. the temperature rockets up to 45f, and all the snow melts. Second day, it snows an incredible amount in the mountains, blocking all the roads - EXCEPT Jasper, where it's been RAINING, and generally being cloudy. And I'm leaving for there tomorrow morning. And all the roads are still closed. There's tons of snow everywhere but Jasper....gah...on the bright side, I'm almost done my first MSTS repaint!

Alberta Pacific Railway SD40-2 # 3042. All I need to do is remove the BCR ditchlights, make that air tank black, make the pilots black, and get the body higher resolution...

  • My cousins and thier dad are in love with that game (World of Warcraft), personally, I dont see what is so great about it. I wish I had RR Tycoon 3.

  • Never been a real big video game guy myself. I do occasionally play MSTS, "Rails Across America" (similar to rr tycoon although still different, and I actually like it better), and very rarely I'll play my copy of Madden 2002 as well (I know, I'm a little out of date there).

I actually got to do a little railfanning in my little town of Reedsburg again last night. For the first time in quite a while the WSOR MALPM was up to Reedsburg at a more Normal time, about 8pm into town. (Instead of after I go to bed like they have been getting up here lately) Normally I don't get many photos at this time of night because it's after dark. But, last night I was smart enough to grab my Tripod as I headed out the door, and so I tried a few effects:

Nothing fantastic, but I had fun taking them.
