    I wish I could be somewhere on the PRR's Northeast Corridor during World War 2. Horseshoe Curve would be cool too.

    I like trains that are steam or diesel. Any era is good for me.

    I like the 60s as well as the 70s..I always found the 70s interesrting..To my mind this was a era of change in several ways.

    Say 1956-1967 - before Amtrak when ATSF ran between LA and Chicago.

    More mixed freights - starting piggyback.

    I like 40s - 50s. The change from Steam to Diesel. The last of teh great passenger trains before the airlines took over.

    What happened to pre- WWII years?

    They never happened? Thanks for letting me know there were no trains before 1940.
