Favorite spot(s)

  • I've been to a lot of places here in Michigan to watch trains, and a couple of ones in Ohio. My favorites are Lapeer, Mich, Durand, Mich, East Lansing(at Trowbridge) and my most favorite in Ohio is Marion. So to everyone I ask, what is your favorite spot(s) to watch trains?[:D][;)]

  • Well living in Kansas those arent my favorite spots, but i have relatives in Archbold Ohio which is on the NYC Chicgao-NY line and also down in Deshler at the B&O crossroads. I also have been to Rochelle and thats also a classic spot. In Kansas though my grandpa and I go to Emporia which is where the BNSF La Juanta sub and the trans con line come back together. When we dont travel that far we go to Newton where all the directional traffic is now coming through off the transcon line. The most senic place in Kansas tho is the Flint Hills in places like Cassoday or Matfield Green which is also on the BNSF transcon. Looking forward to going to Cajon Pass and the southwest sometime...don't know when that will be though.

  • My favorite spots to go are Fostoria Ohio, ( NS&CSX) Deshlier Ohio, Garette IN. both on the CSX ex B&O and Waterloo In. on the NS ex NYC line. I also go to Butler In. where the NS ex NYC crosses the NS ex WABASH line especialy since a connecting track has beeninstalled between the two. T he only bad thing about Butler is that there is a road that goes along side the diamond and if you don't live on the road the locals call the cops.
