Fictional Railroads (Part 3)

  • Some railroads have trackage rights on other fictional lines too. Some of BBE's LM28-2's (or covered hoppers with an cab) had ended up on its mid-western division (and repainted to pullman green and mustard yellow. BBE's current paint is Apple Green and Canary Yellow but due to soot from the tunnels they end up a blackish color.) "The Ben" also handles some coal from Utah via Utah Railway and Union Pacific. Bulk goods like coal, sand and gravel are handled by heavy AC4400CW's, RF9000AC's (SD90MAC), BBE's Kingston Class 2-12-4's and its only 2-10-10-2 (yes steam fans steam still LIVES). BBE also barrow motive power from BNSF and Kerhonkson Central. Big Ben Express has currently merged with the Amanda-Pittman Railroad Co. Most of APRC's Trains have been uneffected excpt the High-Speed train service. Because of the merger, the central division remains open. Some are still in good running shape others are not so lucky [8][xx(]. Much of the central division are jointly used by other railroads.

  • How are the "covered Hoppers with a cabs"doing? [:)][;)] they're also nicknamed "ants" for their 'segmented' look. They can be found system-wide (and interchanged with many diffrent railroads.) Popular by the BBE, which brought the "covered hoppers" in two virents; LM20-2 2-axle 9 were brought. The two-axle units are used mostly for switching and branchline service. The 4 axle units (same as the two axle units) 5 were brought. The LM28-2 is the most popular model built. Over 230 units were bought. Four diffrent models or class units were designed; AM,RM and the LM. [swg]
