Trackside with Erik and Mike Vol. 3 - March 1, 2004

  • No question here, it has to be Photo 2. It's of much better quality and you just feel the power of the train coming toward you!
  • I voted for #1 although too much foreground is showing and chopping off the silo's in the background ruin the overall composition. Aiming up one more inch up would have made this a perfect shot!! Mike's shot under the bridge and Eric's shot at sunrise are both awesome pictures.
  • Photo #2. I agree with dougal.
  • I voted for #2. We do not see the double decker commuter trains down South, and it was a pleasure seeing one. Used to live on Long Island, and it brought back many memories. Also, I liked the blowing snow in picture 2.
  • My vote is for #2. The Metra just seems to show more presence than the CN.
  • I voted for No. 2 because of a lot of the reasons stated above. I like closer shots (some thing they are boring - I like the detail) and the snow kicking up is cool. I can't see a whole lot of photo No. 1 because of the poor light conditions. Taken on a day with a little less overcast this might be a cool shot.

I agree with Dougal 100% on this one
  • i liked photo 1, however it would be better if the shot were eleveated a bit. 2 seemed rushed but also a bit low a higher elevation of the photographer would make it better. I liked the snow effect though!
  • I enjoyed reading it was cool are their going to be anymore?
