The HO Scale Great Central Railroad

Posted by NED BRAUSE

My model railroad, the Great Central. The track plan is from the June 1981 Model Railroader, and article called “4 x 8 Track Planning” by Jim Kelly, called the Arkansas Southern. The Great Central represents the remnants of a line that tried to run a railroad from Canada through the Midwest to Corpus Christi. I have One Santa Fe locomotive and caboose, one Union Pacific locomotive and caboose, one Chicago and North Western locomotive and caboose, and one Southern Pacific Locomotive and Caboose. All the locomotives have DCC and sound. By changing the locos and cabooses I can change the location of the layout - South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas or Texas. I also have an EMD Model 40 for the industrial Park. .
