The Pinebelt Southern RR (PBSR) makes a cameo on the layout with a short branch run to East Alabama Wood Products. The B23-7 still sports NS markings but is now under the ownership of a shortline, modeling what actually existed in the 1990s on the prototype. The unit works chip cars under the loader while pulpwood loads wait on the lumber lead. It will soon head back to the NS main at Opelika to work the NS interchange
