Whats on your motive roster PART 2
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 9:03 PM
Greetings,

Looks like we are getting alot of responces to my first posting.

After reading them all some folks seem kinda down that there collection is not

at therapy level yet.

I for one will say my roster has taken me over 30 years to obtain. Its always a

work in progress. So there is hope for all.

Enjoy,

Mark in Texas

The level of testostrone is rather overpowering here boys! Remember the size of a mans roster does not maketh the man. Its the amount of fun he has with it that makes him the boy.

Having my second childhood and having fun!

At one time, my cousin, my friend, and I had a layout that included the following-

Athearn-1-GP-50
2-SD45
2-SW-1200
1-SD-9
1-SD-40-2
3-GP-9
2-F7-A
Life-Like- 1-GP30
1-DD40-X
Spectrum-1-44 tonner

Plus a few others I can't recall. We had a layout called the RJR Lines, based in Kansas on the ex-Rock Island lines in that area. Most of the engines were in the RJR Lines scheme(blue w/orange body stripe), and a few were in predecessor paint as lease units.[8D]

I like diversity and purchase locos for different reasons. For freight,I enjoy the big ones like the SD's and other 6+ axle haulers.I also have purchased a few "used" ones that I got good deals on for no particular reason, simply like them.Other ones I bought for my planned layout railroad museum and occasional running.

My active roster,all purchased new:
-Life-Like GP-38
-A pair of Kato SD-45
-Atlas SD-50
-Kato SD-9
-Life-Like F-40PH

For my museum and occasional operation:
-Bachmann DDA-40X
-Bachmann 4-8-4
-Bachmann 0-6-0
-Con-Cor PA-1
-Alas E-7A
-Life-Like E-7A
-Kato gear with Trix F-7A shell
-Life-Like F-7B

As budget allows,I plan to add a few more to my "N" scale roster, like Dash 8 and 9,SD-70,80 and 90.I also have started "creating" a Baldwin Centipede with parts of an ill-fated DD40X...a part time project with no deadline.
