Thought that I would share a bit of info I got.

2-8-2 heavy Mikes will be shipping late next week or early the following week (Christmas week).

So get your tracks a ready.

Is this a sure thing? I thought Broadway Limited was having problems confirming actual shipping dates....

Yeah, I saw the WP one here in person. Looks like they switched to what appears to be nickle silver wheels. Much darker and nicer. I didn't get to see this one run either, but I'm sure it is just as good, if not better, than the A class and J1e.

I've received mine from Tony's Train Exchange decorated for Nickel Plate. The running qualities are excellent and the sound system is very good. Detail piping is cast onto the plastic boiler, which is to be expected for the price. I run it only on DCC, and the only operational drawback I have noted is the amount of juice that must be applied before the sound system kicks in. I'm sure some CV tweaking can cure this problem, though. As it comes out of the box, the locomotive sometimes begins to move before the sound begins. For a plastic bodied locomotive, it pulls much better than the cast metal Lionel HO Challenger or the Athearn Genesis Mike, which was a pleasant surprise,
