That's a good size room, not too big and not too small. Mine is similarly sized, 28' long, but a little odd shaped, as it narrows towards the end with the door in it to 10'. Then it ducks under a stairway..well it's complicated. Some guys were giving me some joshing, saying I'd better hope I _never_ need to remove the liftouts. Heck, if I thought that was the case, I''d have just built it without any liftouts.

When I started planning mine, I began with minimum radius, then worked things out from there.

It took me about a year and probably half-a-dozen revisions before I got things where I wanted them. Patience at this stage was a virtue, because I've largely been able to build and operate it as planned. The only major addition was a small staging yard.

Heck, you've got two more years in Kansas. That should give you plenty of time for planning.

My wife just called and said we were preapproved for financing our new home!  Get to plan a layout for 14 X 28.  Of course, I still have a little over 2 years to plan since she'll be in the new home in Omaha and I'll still be in Kansas.  I might be able to get a little bit done on those one or two weekends home a month, but not counting on it (honey do list will still be there in the new house!).

Hmmmmm, single or double deck, continuous or point to point, so many decisions so much time..........
