My dad called CP Rail "Sleepy Rail" when we where talking about why the sawmills around here don't use rails much. Apperently, CP rail dumped a big market for an even bigger one...

I don't think I've ever laughed so much over a forum. The trekkie and Star Wars slogans were great, too!

[:D]I can't agree more, this is hilarious.

my CAST-Away Railroad slogan is probably something like "Can Always SHIP?...Tomorrow!".

I still like the Klingon idea though... "send by Klingon, you'll never get it" or something like that.

"the answer is 42" (HGTTG) works for me also

Something more along the lines of

"Klingon Rail, when it absolutely, positively has to be smashed up overnight"

And Deep Thought did warn you...."Do I have AN ANSWER? YES!....but your really not going to like it..."

   Have fun with your trains

I'm partial to nicknames road employees gave existing railroads usually based on the letters painted on the tenders or engines.

My favorite is from the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railway,

NCNG....Never Comes, Never Goes.

Haven't got one of my own, but heard a good one on the radio from Bob & Tom, see www.bobandtom.com for station listings.

"When it has to be their coast to coast overnight, Norfolk and Waypal."[:p]

Central Illinois is the home of my RR, The Sangamon & Kakaskia (two rivers running thru central Illinois). Our slogan is "The Sangamon & Kaskaskia, Bracketing the I. C." which gives the RR the logo of "SicK". I have also started on a fictitious history of the not-so-famous Sangamon & Kaskaskia that explains how a disgruntled PR person came up with the slogan to get even with the ne'er-do-well majority owner/CEO after an embarassing moment at a company social function. My work on this, like a good many of the previous entries noted, are perfect examples of an idle mind being a terrible waste!

Well I did like GO Transit's old line "Bringing The Skydome Closer To Home"

But I would still say it should be more like "GO Transit: Now With French Subtitles" or "GO Transit: All The Noise Of Queen Elizabeth Way, And Twice The Capacity" or "GO Transit: All The Beaurcracy Of An American Line, But We Actually Run On Time"

I still have a few cars left from my old freelance road, the Balboa Southern Rail Road, or B.S.R.R., also known as the B.S. Road.
" There's no load like a B.S. load"
" When the boss wants it shipped fast, B.S. it!"
"Nothing moves it faster than B.S."
well you get the idea. Musta had a hundred of em.

The Vancouver Seattle & Portland RR (also known as the Vastly Sorry and Puny RR) has these slogans :
"Praying for our trains to stay on track since 1890!"
"The Streamliner Rip-Off"
"We'll be happy as long as you don't spit in our cars"
"We also call our trains Zephyrs, so what?"
"D'OH!"
... and the big railroad cliche:

"we think we can, we think we can!"

While I don't have a slogan to add, I must say how much fun I've had reading all of yours. I don't think I've ever laughed so much over a forum. The trekkie and Star Wars slogans were great, too!
