I'm using the 4.0.1 but never used the old version.  The biggest problem I've had so far is the last post I made (above).  It was a little frustrating figuring that out but maybe I should have known that already.

Reality...an interesting concept with no successful applications, that should always be accompanied by a "Do not try this at home" warning.

Hundreds of years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...But the world may be different because I did something so bafflingly crazy that my ruins become a tourist attraction.

"Oooh...ahhhh...that's how this all starts...but then there's running...and screaming..."

If by "rest of the items offered" you mean the pre-formed track sections and buildings, go to files > parameter files > browse, find the file on your hard drive labeled "params", and you'll find them there.  They have the extension .xtp.

If it is the program istself you are looking for you can get it here:

XtrkCAD Special Interest Group

Be sure to run the tutorial once you get it installed. It will take several hours but it is worth it.

what items are "missing" from your xtrkcad?

If it is saying you need to register, look on the sillub homepage, right above where it says "Update - Version 3.1.4 is available".  There is a link that you can follow to get the registration information.
