Do any of you have good ways to perserve pine trees branches to use on a layout Ive been using para wax but it kills the branch(turns yellow)P.S if you want to make cheap dead trees and driftwood use the ends of lilac bushes and pull off the buds(looks awesome)just make sure you leave some on the actual tree!!ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

1. Let 'em dry out
2. Spray 'em with Dullcoat

if you go to a large craft type shop like Micheals there are sprays that people who make wreaths of grape vines use. There might be other preservative products there as well. An initial spray with Raid or some other insect killer might not be a bad idea either

let them dry out and let them soak in matte medium. I prefer this to spraying them as it soakes in further so is stronger.
or you can do nothing and be careful with them (this works with privit hedge clipings).
