Cost Of Kadee couplers
Posted by JeremyB on Friday, November 28, 2003 5:53 PM
Hi Guys

Can anybody tell me how much it would cost ( approx.) to install kadees on all of my 120 freight cars, and 6 engines. In Canadian currency.

The answer to your question here is this ;
The US average cost of a pack of Kadee ,
which fits two cars per pack is $ 2.90.
If you multiply this by 1/2 your job is 63.
This is $182.70 in US Dollars. Since I am
not sure of the exact exchange today, 0.77 is a
good guess. So, your total answer to this is-----
$ 141.00 you can expect to pay to do this project.
Hey , you Canadiens, AM I RIGHT ???????

Uh, I think the exchange rate goes the other way making it $237.27CDN. BTW Walthers site has a pack of 20 prs without the draft gear box for $21.95 US. If you don't need them for all/some of your cars this could lower your cost.
Enjoy

It goes cheaper if you get them in bulk packs. A 20 pair pack of #5 cost like $18 and you get every thing but the coupler box cover.
