Hm. I'll ponder this today. I run 4 of them together and they have not yet caused any trouble other than a bad speaker.
Yes they run in pairs with the F (Front) forward with one A unit in reverse.
Have you tried to reset the engines by DCC?
Hi twhite
The B unit actually does have 'F' at the front of the unit the same as the A unit. My B unit is the right way round but still doesn't work. The sounds work but it does not move. I've got in touch with my LHS (100+ miles away!) Hopefully he'll be able to sort it. I'll let you know what it is.
Cheers

I don't know whether or not this is usual for the BLI F-7 units, but I found out (very quickly!) that on my BLI E-6 A-B-B unit that the radiator fans on both B units have to be facing toward the back, same as the A unit. Otherwise, I had some VERY interesting moves! Evidently the Kadee couplers have a great deal to do with the power routing, despite the fact that the diesels themselves are an all-wheel pickup. Hopefully, with the B unit correctly positioned, you won't have this problem.
Let us know, okay? And I'm like you, I want to see those engines MOVE!

Hi Eriediamond
Thanks! That sounds so simple, it's proabably it. (And I let impatience creep in!) I'll try again today. That's the trouble with having a break from layout building and trying locos before I've laid track. Should have stuck with my plan and ticked the 'built layout woodwork' box first. But hey! Come on, I needed a shot of sound and engines MOVING!!!
Thanks again.
Maybe you had them pulling against each other -- try running them with both on the same track but not coupled together and see what happens. If they go in opposite directions, turn the B unit around.
Hi
I'm in the middle of building my new HO layout so have been acquiring trains along the way as I build. I have 4 BLI steam and deisels to date. Anyway.... I bought a BLI F7 A+B and straight out the box, away they went, fine and dandy. Today, bored with sawing and layout building, I set up a length of track, attached it to my NCE Power Pro and ran 3 trains fine until I got to my A+B units. Sounds on both units. Revved up and it moved about a tenth of an inch and stopped. I removed the B unit and tried the A on it's own and it pulled away but not very smoothly. Coupled with the B it doesn't go anywhere. Reset with magic wand. Still the same.
So, dear friends out there, what do you think is wrong? By the way, should the B unit run on it's own without the A? (It doesn't). Or am I doing something really stupid?
Thanks
