I make an attempt to operate on the tracks that are live.
Normally, I am in the process of getting all 3 lines to operate
correctly by fixing problem areas and rewiring to make sure
a smooth run will occur when I do go full operating status,
hoping to have this accomplished soon. Then , track will be
covered over for the scenery process and for the videotaping
of the journal I keep of layout progress. Maybe by next year, I
can be at a scedule of this kind ????

What I DID set up for that is a Statistics Board. Almost like a
waybill system or controllers display, it gives me a visible
way to know what trains or consists are on the 3 tracks I will
run. I have used a computer easyforms maker to print out my
business card size equipment markers. It is a simple way
to stay organized.

My layout is temporarily dismantled, while I rewire for DCC. But right now my layout schedule consists of a daily turn on the branch line, and a daily mainline freight turn. When I get more room, I will probably add another freight turn on the main line. Right now this keeps me occupied for a good two hours when I run the schedule. When I make up my fright tun, I run it to the end of track and then remove thecars to the staging shelf. and then track the return freight.
